New things
Something new always happens when we are strong in the knowledge of who we are in Christ. To do this we must know who we are…in Him. Two passages to consider:
So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! (2Cor5:16-17)
Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland. (Is 43:18-19)
In our lives, we need to surrender into an ongoing, gentle and persistent renewing of our minds. This includes moving out old and stubborn mindsets – unworthiness/anxiety/fear to name a few. The unrenewed mind does tricky things with the condition of our heart. And influences what we think. But we can be proactive, and always determine to abandon sin, because a gradual weaning approach never ever delivers what it promises. A great illustration is our overstuffed fridge at Christmas time! We must throw out the old rotten stuff so that there is room for the fresh and new in our lives.
Lets not keep living off the memory of an experience in the past, Jesus wants our attention now – it is a continuous current relationship – Real and Alive. And so that the new can remain untainted, we need to keep looking to Jesus and not allow ourselves to dwell in the past.
Our wonderful Father is doing a new thing in our lives. When God opens this next door, you will understand why the enemy fought you so hard. Be encouraged and think upon Jesus, and know that…
- You are Loved
- You are Chosen
- You are Redeemed
- You are favoured
- You are Blessed
- You are Healed
- You have a purpose and an amazing Destiny (Jer 29: 11-14).
Amen
