Children & Young People

Children are important to all of us. Our conviction is for children to thrive and be the person Jesus has created and called them to be. It is a priority of Stirling Family Church that we teach, model and show what a relationship with Jesus Christ looks like!

If you attend Stirling Family Church, it will be obvious to conclude that children’s ministry is important.

We encourage our church to pray regularly for our children and young people. While it is true that they are the future church, it is more accurate to say that they are the young church of today.

Sunday Kids Church

During the Service, primary school aged children are invited to commence their age specific program where learning about Jesus and what Jesus says is explored and shared. Sunday Kids gathers for approximately 30-35 minutes during the message and are supervised and lead by a great team of people who love Jesus and want children to discover more about Jesus. Children who attend are checked-in to our Child Safe Environment and the kids have the best time!

Sunday 10:40 Group

At least twice per month, high school aged young people are invited to engage in discussions around the Sunday teaching series, and share what the bible says about formational and youth related pressures faced by young people. We regularly ask guest speakers to share their testimony and how Jesus and the Bible has helped them through their life. Guest speakers help to create connections between the generations in our community and foster positive engagement and encouragement for both young, and not so young.

Sunday Family Services

The first Sunday of the month from February through to November is an intentional Family Service with its own teaching series and emphasis on engagement with children throughout the service. These services include craft and interaction between adults and children as we thread a service that allows both to draw nearer to Jesus. A Family Service also helps both young and not so young to gather together and make space for each other. In every family, there are noisy and quiet moments, messy and clean moments, fun and serious moments. These moments are captured in our Family Services.

Sunday Creche Space

Our Church has a creche space with direct line of sight to the service. The space is equipped with audio and more importantly, toys and play equipment for toddlers and babies. Parents and caregivers are welcome to use this space and supervise their children.

Sunday Mums & Bubs Space

We have a small room off to the side of the auditorium for mums to feed and support their baby. This room is reserved for mums and bubs only. Supervised toddlers are welcome to use our Creche space.

On Sunday

Friday craft group

Fortnightly during school term, Making Sharing Growing meets on a Friday evening in Nairne. Starting at 7.00p the craft goes on until enough tea, laughter and sharing has taken place. Learn more about Friday Craft here.

Men’s Coffee Club

It is not really about the coffee. We just like to meet together. We share life’s ups and downs, chat about current issues of the week, tell a story or two but basically just enjoy community and being together.

We meet fortnightly at the Old Mill in Hahndorf at 10.00a on Thursday’s.

Enkindle Formation Group

Enkindle means to be set on fire, ignited, made passionate or enthusiastic. To have one’s inner flame lit and filled with a sense of awe and wonder for life with Jesus Christ. The goal of Enkindle is to deepen one's connection with the divine and to live in ways which are consistent with the message and teaching of scripture.

Enkindle meets Tuesday evenings from 7.30-8.30p. Learn more about Enkindle here.

Life Groups

Life Groups are where individuals, couples and families meet together in community. Some meet in homes, other times in Cafe’s and some meet at 2 Avenue Road Stirling.  We have several groups that meet fortnightly during the week.  We believe in Life Groups because:

  • Together we meet God through the Bible (Ps 19:9-11, 2 Peter 1:3-4) . We have time to understand the bible better, ask questions and explore different points of view and experiences.

  • We make consistent time to know and serve each other (Heb 3:12-13) Slowly, we feel more connected in God's family by being with each other and supporting each other.

  • We have time to pray and depend on the Lord (Phi 4:6-7) Prayer in connect groups tend to be intimate and everyone has the chance to prayer.

  • It helps us to remain accountable as disciples of Jesus (Acts 1:8) You get to share highlights and joys, and the stresses and troubles of life with others, and encourage each other in serving the Lord and being faithful.

Learn more here about our Life Groups

Connecting is not only about quality time, but also quantity time and that means looking to gather during the rest of the week.

However we want to be intentional and purposeful in what we do and share. We connect in many ways and at different times including Life Groups, Men’s Coffee, Spiritual Formation, Friday Youth Group and Saturday Craft Group. Gathering during the rest of the week creates space for sharing and doing life. Sharing and talking about common interests, common struggles and common joys we all experience. Stirling Family Church will always be more than a Sunday morning…

Friday Youth Group

Friday nights from 7.00-9.00a are all about High School students and up, gathering together for community, purpose and sharing in the goodness of Jesus. Check out our Youth Page here.
