In the beginning was the Word
The Greek λόγος (logos), translating simply as ‘word’ meaning a symphony, a sound or noise. In the Biblical context it is interpreted as the written word, the word of God, but this is tragically incomplete. Somehow when John wrote these words, he had a very different idea in mind, something more personal, intimate.
God has a plan and purpose for all of us
One of the greatest examples of fasting is when Jesus, after being baptised immediately engaged in a 40 day period of fasting. It is no coincidence that this was done prior to the beginning of His earthly ministry. The devil will try and hinder our understanding of the Spiritual Power that comes with the discipline of prayer and fasting. We can stand firm knowing that prayer and fasting is from the Living Word of God.
