Mens BBQ - Guest Nick Chehade

Nick Chehade is a warm and friendly guy and a practical inspirational speaker who will both encourage and challenge you!

Nick will share stories, bring a quality talk, and bring a genuine interest in the lives of men being the man God has called them to be. And recognising that men need the company and encouragement of other men, more than we want to admit!

With a BBQ and Icecream, and some blokey challenges, Nick will share on some personal & practical issues in a bloke’s life, and we will be encouraged and challenged and inspired.

A little about Nick.

Nick is married with three adult children, and he is a grandpa twice over. Nick loves the crows and will often watch the 97 and 98 Grand Finals! Nick has a gift in working with men and young men, mentoring and coaching and influencing for good. Nick Chehade co-founded the New Day Program, a Not for Profit and a Registered Training organisation, operating for 17 years, working with:

  • Good quality blokes, some “rugged and others buggered” , who were long term unemployed and usually broken and lost their confidence and their way.

  • Nick also worked with teenage school leavers who were asked to exit school as they had usually run out of school options.

  • The program had an attendance rate of 90 to 100 percent for the entire 17 years.

The reason we had an attendance rate so high was that we genuinely loved people and said things worth listening to.

There was no waffle or useless dribble.

We worked with some blokes who were “dirty dogs” and not ready to move on or make a change for the better. And in the process, we put thousands of people into long term employment, usually leaving their despair behind them.

There were lots of good adult men who were busted and broken and we loved them and got along side of them with kindness, gentleness and with encouragement.

We were also highly skilled at sometimes taking blokes (figuratively) out to the car park and giving it to them - a truthful reality check and sharing necessary hard truths.

Nick also worked for 9 years full time with young offenders and their families, and has been involved with prison ministry, going to jails often, but has never stayed overnight ofcourse!.

Nick is attends Burnside Family Church, loves Adelaide, loves travel, loves AFL, loves meat, goes to the gym, enjoys a coffee with other blokes, loves his wife, his kids and Jesus!

Invite some along for a very real and encouraging BBQ.
