January Series - Freedom in Christ

What does freedom in Christ mean? How does it work? What does it mean for us? Why does it matter?

During January, we will look at Freedom in Christ as a concept and set of words we use alot in Church, and unpack what is means practically speaking.

So come along and be encouraged by the Word made Flesh, as we explore Galatians and freedom we have, in Christ.

But to anyone who did accept him, he gave the right to become God’s children; yes, to anyone who believed in his name. John 1:12

And the Word became flesh, and lived among us. We gazed upon his glory, glory like that of the father’s only son, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith… Galatians 3:24-26

Jesus set us free so that we could enjoy freedom… Galatians 5:1

The freedom we enjoy in Christ is:

  • blessed assurance and security (Rom 8:14-17)

  • the gift of His Spirit (Luke 11:13) and eternal life (John 3:1-16)

  • joy, peace, hope for everyday living (Rom 15:13)

  • a loving church body of Christ family to love and belong (1 Tim 5:1-2)

  • relational Father (Rom 8:15) and loving correction (Heb 12:5-6)

  • children after God (Matt 5:45) imitating God (Eph 5:1)

  • forgiveness (1 John 2:12) and access to God in prayer (Matt 7:11)

  • confidence in His provision (Matt 6:25)

  • freedom, not burden, in Christ (Galatians 5:1)
