about mission uplift

Yayasan Bukit Karmel is dedicated to the welfare of children. In support of this aim, the Foundation is responsible for:

  • Women’s Rehabilitation Centre

  • Bukit Karmel Children’s Home

  • Education

Mavis Pardede is the Panderi or Founder of the organisation. All of Bukit Karmel operations are registered with the Government and exist within a local Foundation chaired and overseen by Indonesian Citizens who have a heart to uplift children.

Yayasan Bukit Karmel exists to uplift others by:

  • Providing a place for women to care for their newborn babies, supported with accommodation, medical care and counselling.

  • Providing a home for children from newborn through to 18 years old, where children are loved and raised together, and along with the support of the local community, grow in healthy relationships, and a safe environment.

  • Support children with their education including providing costs relating to school fees, transport and all the activities that come with schooling.

Bukit Karmel is located in the foothills of Bogor across nearly 700 square meters of land. The location includes all living quarters, and room for play and growing food. Partnering with World Families Australia Inc, a major project was completed that delivered a semi artesian well which supplies the Children’s Home with a water supply all year round. And in the spirit of community, that well has been made available to the local village, making a difference for the entire community.

Yayasan Bukit Karmel operates by donation, which are received in the majority from generous sponsors in Indonesia. Sponsorship from Australia which is facilitated through World Families Inc assists primarily with education of children, meaning many more children are able to complete High School successfully, and enter into further study or the workforce.

Bukit Karmel is a special place with many stories of miracles, amazing grace and love.
