Online Marriage Course

About the COURSE

What - This is an 8 Session Online Marriage Course. This course is part of discipleship courses, and following Jesus in all things.

Who - Open to couples or all ages and stages, all who have declared Jesus to be the centre of their marriage.

Why - You have a desire and need to grow, up-skill and enrich marriage, in order that we may be faithful to God in His marriage precepts and His example of love.

When - One evening per week. The course has 8 sessions and will run for 8 weeks.

Where - Each couple stays in the comfort of their home, usually with a hot cuppa and a plate of something nice. We first meet online together before saying goodbye and as couples, engage with the marriage course content.

How - Before each session, Participants use their Zoom invitation email with their shared internet connected device. And via Zoom, the host shares a link for participants to watch.

Support - Each participant will be connected pastorally, and supported with encouragement, resources and ways to draw in Jesus in every area of marriage.

Hosts - This course is hosted by Ben & Bec, co-hosted with Tim & Sam. Feel free to chat with them at Church if you want to speak to someone at the course.

The Sessions

Session 1: Welcome – We give time in the first session to introduce the course explain how the sessions work in practical terms. And talk about what happens during the course, and what to do.

Session 2: Strengthening Connection – Explores the importance of making time for each other, protecting your relationship, and building emotional safety.

Session 3: The Art of Communication – Focuses on learning how to talk through feelings, listen actively, and overcome communication blockers.

Session 4: Resolving Conflict – Looks at recognising how we fight, handling anger, and turning disagreements into constructive problem-solving.

Session 5: The Power of Forgiveness – Teaches how to deal with resentments, address hurts, and extend grace and forgiveness within the partnership.

Session 6: The Impact of Family – Examines how our upbringing and family-of-origin patterns shape our current expectations and behaviours.

Session 7: Good Sex – Discusses physical intimacy, understanding each other's needs, and communicating openly about sexual health and expectations.

Session 8: Love in Action – Explores practical ways to show affection, support each other's love languages, and build a lasting legacy.
