8 Feb 2026 - Compassion & See - Guest Pr Barry Silverback

Matthew 9:36-38 - “When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

Compassion and See Series is about Jesus, what He saw and what He heard, and the compassion Jesus had for people.

Pr Barry Silverback shares about Compassion, the sort of compassion that Jesus had that means to suffer with, share together and do something about. It reflects both emotional sympathy and active kindness. To be like Jesus means to be clothed with compassion, to be clothed in Christ. The daughter of Pharaoh provides an example of this compassion. Pr Barry encouraged us to maintain compassion for people, and to go to the Lord, the rock that is higher than ourselves!

Hear my cry, O God; attend to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call out to You whenever my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For You have been my refuge, a tower of strength against the enemy. Let me dwell in Your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of Your wings. For you have heard my vows, O God; You have given me the inheritance reserved for those who fear Your name.

(Psalm 61)
